Christmas 2014

Christmas happened and I hope everyone had a great time. I'm just happy the Christmas is over partially cause I work retail and holidays suck so much during this time. But instead of being a Grinch about the holidays, I must say my Christmas Eve/Christmas was awesome. Now, I don't have some extravagant story to tell you about going to a crazy party but my familia and I had the chillest of all chills(?) days. My mom cooked scrumptious food, there were some drinks and we spent the day watching Christmas movies, Anthony Bourdain and TLC lol. We actually slept a lot too.

I don't have much to say since we didn't do much but, I don't know, this Christmas felt super nice. I was extra happy just to be with the people I'm around 24/7 lol. Maybe cause I'm excited for the New Year and all that to come around. I've got tons of things in store for me in 2015. While we're still in 2014, I took some pictures of how Christmas went.

Enjoy!

Costumes in Your Closet

Hey everyone!

So guess what tomorrow is? Yup, Halloween! Where did the time go? In just a few months it's gonna be the new year which is crazy to think about. Feels like just yesterday we were entering 2014 but now I'm getting off topic.

Since tomorrow is Halloween, it's time to get hashtag cray with the costumes. But then there's those people who wait last minute to get a costume and can't find anything or those people who don't wanna spend moola *coughcoughMEcoughcough* but still wanna be something. I've come up with a few ideas where you can literally wear clothes from your closet and voila you got yourself a costume.

Leather Weather

Hello loves, how are you?

For this look, I went edgy which has definitely taken over the fashion scene this year (I'm convinced it has to do with Kylie Jenner's stylo). What really makes this is an "edgy" look are two pieces: my jacket and plaid shirt. With the jacket, I feel like every person should have a go-to leather jacket, it adds that right pop to anything. They're like chameleons but since mine has collars, it has a rocker vibe. And as for plaid shirt, I buttoned it up all the way to the top cause that's how it looked best with the necklace. You could also leave it open and have a cool graphic tee under. It's not so hardcore though cause I added some glam to it aka my necklace and my lip color, a vibrant berry color. But yeah, here's some pictures of my outfit in detail. Enjoy!

Sporty Chic

Hello everyone! It's been a while, like a really long while. Happens when you get caught up with life. So summer is over which means FALL IS HERE! The best season of the year. I'm glad I live in an area where we actually have a fall. You know, the leaves start to change, it gets breezy but not freezing and the highlight, fashion kills it this season. I think it has to do with all the layering we get to do but not over do it like in the winter where you gotta wear a million layers to be warm.

But I'm here to talk about coats cause I feel like every person needs a go to coat once it starts to get a little chilly. Recently, when I went shopping I found the one. It really sucked though cause I didn't want to buy anything lol but it was just calling my name.

This is a Michael Kors coat and the reason I adore it is cause of the details. As you can see, the sleeves are leather while the body is wool which is super convenient cause that means I get to use it in the winter too! The length of it would help me stay extra toasty too. I realized I've become a fan of the lengthy jacket these past few years. Anyway, I know leather sleeves are kinda blah since everyone has a jacket with them but the ends are so beautiful with the criss cross effect, it add that oomph. But it looks like the leather sleeves are making a comeback this season too.

Aside from the detail, this coat is like a chameleon. It's formal but not too formal, depending on how you style it. As you can tell, I played it down (which is the story of my life) with my Nike Roshe's but the coat doesn't make my outfit look too casual. And I wore all black too, shocker! I decided to dress super simple cause I wanted my coat to be the statement piece in this case. Here's a close up of the outfit:

The comfiest shoes on the planet.

Evil eye necklaces are becoming super trendy too. I forgot the brand-name of it
but I got it at TJ Maxx (hashtag maxxinista).
This post was super short but I'm gonna get back on track especially since this is my favorite season for fashion and. I'm probably gonna do a weekly OOTD and I've been trying to come up with other things as well so stay tune!

My Boyfriends.

So it's been a while. I kinda have my life back now that it's been a month since the World Cup finished *sobs*, I got my shiznet together to pay for school and all these other shenanigans. I can't believe the summer is almost over like honestly, did July even happen? Well to not think of the summer ending I must announce to the world my FAVORITE trend this season. No, not crop tops. I'm talking boyfriend jeans!

Top: Forever 21
Jeans: Old Navy

Shoes: BCBGeneration

Necklace: HomeGoods

Boyfriend jeans were sent from heaven to make women feel super cozy in jeans that aren't supposed to be tight. They're just so cute and I really love the "let's make masculine clothes feminine" look. There are tons of boyfriend jeans that give a different vibe like the distressed ones can be sporty or rocker. With my look, I played my jeans up to make them look more casual chic. I actually determined this outfit cause of my heels that I got last week and feel madly in love with. And even though this outfit is so simple, I kept it that way. I just added a necklace, that I surprisingly found at my job, to add some spice.

Stripes & Lace

Hey people! So yesterday I really liked my outfit so here's a post haha. Well, I'm just here to voice my opinion about laced clothing BECAUSE IT'S SO CUTE. It's starting to become a huge summer trend cause I'm basically seeing it everywhere and it's so obvious why it is. You can really make lace look whatever you want it to be. It can be super feminine and gentle? (what lol) or you can create a grunge look, when it's black lace, or sexy look… just go into Victoria's Secret (bowchikawowow). Personally, I think lace looks best when it's on shorts like mine here. It was love at first sight when I spotted these bad boys. Partially because they were cute but they were loose shorts too, which are becoming my favorite. Wearing jean or any tighter shorts gets so uncomfortable cause they rise up and it annoys the heck outta me. Loose shorts are awesome cause they're casual but sophisticated but most importantly, COMFORTABLE *angelic sounds*

I actually had no idea what I was gonna wear with these shorts when I got them. I knew I wanted it to be a crop top since they're high waisted and crop tops and high waisted bottoms really compliments my figure. So when I was rummaging through my clothes I spotted this stripped shirt and that was it. It had a floral print pocket on it too like my shorts (they're a floral lace pattern).

Then for my shoes, I slipped on my espadrilles that I bought at Target years ago. These are starting to become a thing now too which is pretty funny cause I was gonna gives them away this year. And accessorized with my satchel purse, that I bought a few years ago too, and some rings and bangles. It was a simple outfit so I didn't wanna get too crazy with the accessories, ya feels?

And I know that I wore two different patterns in one outfit *GASP* but honestly, two different patterns don't even look bad. You just need to make sure that you're not mixing extreme patterns that have a bunch going on, like plaid. So go ahead and mix them up, it's not as bad as you think!

To Finish, this is what happens when my photographer (aka my mom lol) just always take pictures of me. Let me take you...

BEHIND THE SCENES:

España x El Salvador

So yesterday, Saturday, my brother and I went to go see Ethpaña and El Salvador play against each other at FedEx Field in Maryland. We literally have gone to every Northeast friendly game Spain have played. Our first game was in Boston in 2011, then last year they came to the Yankee Stadium and now they came to Maryland to play before El Mundial. Gosh, I really love this team. Like it's so unconditional it makes me sick to my stomach. I HATE THAT I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

These were the best seats we've ever had, two rows behind the field. They were the dream seats, literally. Like it said so on my ticket vvv

But this game wasn't as great as the ones I've been before. It was mainly due to the stick policies cause I had to give in my book bag that carried my cameras, wallet, headphones (that I accidentally left in there), and charger. When we were walking towards the stadium and I got in line for security, the told me "You have to put the bag back in your car" and that crushed me. My mom and aunt had dropped us off and I had no where to put my stuff. I had to take everything out and stuff what I could in my pockets and give some stuff to my brother. It sucked. On top of that, some of the fans were as obnoxious and ratchet, yes I said ratchet haha. And I've never given so much attitude at an event in my life. These people just didn't know how to act and were in the wrong seats and it just made me so aggravated. Also, us Spain fans were dominated by El Salvadorian fans. Throughout the stadium, all you saw was a sea of blue which never happen more up north. See what I mean vvv

Once I got past security and into our seats, which we eventually had to move again cause we were sitting in the wrong section (but our actual ones were even better cause we sat next to the tunnel), everything was dandy. It was just that when the players were coming and exiting, people would come squish the hell outta me and the other people that where sitting in the same area. But my brother and I got some good picture of players, I was on cloud nine (imagine if I met them face to face, yikes).

Of course, my boys won 2 to nil and both were scored by Dah-veed Vija (David Villa). Yeah, you have to say his name in Spanish or it doesn't sound right. Here are some more snips of the game though (you can click on them to make them larger) :

There was a lot of yelling, aggravation, cheering, sweating, and shots that should have been goals (from Spain). Overall, I love watching them play every single time. I'm super excited for the World Cup now which they should be heading to now, if not they should be there. Hopefully, they can be named "World Champions" again.

Now, before this post gets any longer, I'm just gonna write how I began loving this team so much. Well, basically Fernando Torres aka My Niño cause I feel like people should know. I think most people know how much I love him. Let me just start by blaming it on my dad haha I really didn't ask to be a fan. I remember back in 2009, before the World Cup, I was getting really into fútbol. You know, I played for my high school and all that. So before the World Cup, my dad wanted to order a Torres Spain jersey and I ordered it online for him. When it came, my dad just randomly told me "Here, you can take it." Let me make it clear, I wasn't into any international teams at this time, I just liked FC Barcelona. So I did my research on and I was starstruck. My first footballer crush was David Beckham but man, Fernando Torres was a God Among Men to me. From there on, I was hooked. I googled the Spanish National Team and Torres cause I wanted to know more about them cause I would feel foolish rockin' the jersey and not knowing much. At this time, they were claimed "The Kings of Europe" winning the Euro Cup 2008 and people had great expectations from the for the World Cup. And guess who scored the winning goal making them "The Kings of Europe" … TORRES! But I know he was going through a tough time as well with an injury, which really pushed back his skill potential. I know I was becoming one of his fans at a really tough time in his career but that didn't stop me from always rooting for him (I love him like a fan girl but defend him like I'm his mother haha). I actually think that made me become a bigger fan, just believing that he will get better cause even till this day he's having trouble being consistent in his performance. I don't even think anyone understand when I genuinely say that I love this guy, not in a typical fan girl way though. In this World Cup, I know he's gonna be able to make him mark. I have faith in him. And that is the story of my love for Torres, the rest is history!

Look how cute his smile is! Bless.
After this game, there was a MLS match, D.C. United x Columbus Crew. I was able to shake all their hands even though I knew none of them haha and I got signatures for this kid cause I was closer. They weren't as entertaining or good. At least our hotel was awesome with free continental breakfast! Overall, it was fun to get out of Jersey for the weekend.

DIY Floral Headbands // OOTD

Hello all! It's been a while. Anyway, nowadays there's a bunch of raves going on and they're becoming super popular. Outfits are usually booty shorts, colorful bras, and FLORAL HEADBANDS! So basically, I'm just gonna give you guys some instructions to make your own headbands. But these raves aren't the reason I'm doing this post, it was just kinda relevant haha. I remember once I wanted to buy a floral headband and when I saw the price to it was like "UH, NO" (in my head though). So with what you can buy with one headband, you can make way more than one. I spent about $8 on the products, which you can buy at any art store, and I still have a bunch to make. So enough of me rambling in the intros, as usual, and let me get started.

The products you need are: floral wires, green floral tape, a hot glue gun, and of course, the flowers of your choice; make sure they're the ones you can pop off and plop back on (they have a little stem underneath).

  1. To begin, with the floral wire, you just measure the circumference of your head. If the come in strands, you might need to wires, depending on how big it is. If this does happen, you don't need to cut the wire just let it over lap.
  2. Once you have the measurements, with the floral tape, you wrap it around so there's more comfort on your head. Also, like I mentioned earlier, if you do need to wires, just tape the overlapped ends together. Just a side note: with the floral tape, it might not stick instantly so you have to wrap it on itself more than once so it stays put.
  3. By this time, you should have your headband finished. Therefore, use the hot glue gun to glue the flowers onto your headband. And ta-da! You should have your headbands finished after that.
Personally, I like making my own headbands better cause then you get to design it yourself AND the elastic doesn't squish your head!

Here's one of mine!

And to quickly add onto this, I'm gonna do my Outfit of the Day (just because I loved my dress).

I got this dress at TJMaxx for only $16! What really caught my eye was the deep-V back, which I'm loving, and the slit on the dress. I think a high bun with some loose strands of hair would be super cute with this dress to show off the back (I didn't do that cause I oddly felt like doing my hair haha) And I wore brown strap sandals with it.

So yeah, I hope you guys do the floral headband and tag me if you do! You can find my social medias in the links above. Until next time!
